Abstract

The scientific study of conflict resolution makes fundamental contributions to both the generation and application of knowledge in formal and informal settings. Although human beings can manifest selfish behavior, envy and violence, it is also true that we are trained as a species, among other virtues, for cooperation, help, gratitude and positive conflict management. All efforts, and particularly those that have demonstrated their positive impact, aimed at achieving peaceful coexistence and promoting a culture of peace must be recognized and disseminated as essential elements in peace education, a natural aspiration of humanity. In this sense, it is especially important to document and publish the studies and experiences that contribute and/or demonstrate effects on the skills to resolve conflict situations in different contexts. The results of research and practice in this area constitute an indispensable heritage for this promising and necessary line of work.
